FAQ
What is the Veterans Services Group (VSG) at Finkelstein & Partners LLP?
The Veterans Services Group is an outreach program that aims to assist veterans in navigating the complex Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) system. We specialize in helping those who’ve served our country to secure fair and just disability compensation.
What types of cases do you handle?
We handle a variety of cases, including but not limited to combat-related wounds, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), military sexual trauma (MST), and toxin/dioxin exposure.
I've been denied VA benefits before. Can VSG help me?
Absolutely. Denials are, unfortunately, not uncommon. Our specialized VSG lawyers can help you appeal these denials and guide you toward a fair claim process, ensuring you get the benefits you deserve.
Is the VSG solely for those filing appeals against denials?
No. While we certainly assist those denied benefits, we also support veterans considering filing for V.A. benefits for the first time or having concerns about the fast-approaching deadlines.
Do you represent clients outside of disability claims?
Yes, we also assist in cases involving healthcare, memorial, educational, and specific insurance benefits. We can represent veterans and eligible surviving spouses in all 50 states.
What are disability pension benefits?
Disability pension benefits are provided to veterans injured or disabled due to a medical condition. Unlike disability compensation, these benefits are not based on the veteran’s service.
Who is eligible for disability pension benefits?
To be eligible for disability pension benefits, a veteran must be disabled or injured. The V.A. does not require that the condition be linked to military service.
Are family members eligible for any benefits?
Yes, VA benefits are available to qualifying family members, including spouses, dependent children, and parents of living and deceased veterans.
What are accrued benefits?
If a veteran has a pending VA disability claim at the time of their death, accrued benefits may be claimed by a spouse or children. To establish a claim for accrued benefits, the claim must be filed within one year of the veteran’s death, and the veteran must have a pending disability claim.
How do I start the process?
Contact our dedicated VSG lawyers for a consultation. We’ll assess your case and guide you through the complexities of the VA system.
How much do I need to pay upfront for a VSG lawyer?
Our services are 100% contingency-based, meaning you pay nothing upfront. We only get paid if we win your case.
